In his reply Lytle has defended the factual side well, although it should not have been necessary since he was plain enough in the article as to where these kids come from. And he has addressed the spiritual side from a personal point of view. But allow me to speak to the larger question of right and wrong as it relates to dealing with evil. Admittedly, evil is first spiritual, but it always has a physical expression. And the question for mere humans always turns out to be, what do we do about the physical expression of evil. Murderers must be caught and tried. Rapists and thieves the same. Where practical, evil doers must be forced to make restitution as part of their punishment. And, I would add, at some point those who use the power of parliaments and lawcourts to promote and permit evil, must either be defeated at the ballot box or forcefully driven from office. It's all in C. S. Lewis' novel Perelandra. May it be widely read, may it's Old Testament correspondences be finally understood, and may good men eventually realize they have a duty under God to do whatever it takes to stop evil from flourishing.
This is so ridiculous. There are NO missing kids. (Under a hundred a year in this country and the vast majority of those are family disputes, divorces.) Imagine iif you were a mom with a missing kid. YOU NEVER GIVE UP. If there were say, even five thousand missing kids, we would never hear the end of it from their moms. It would be the only thing on the news. Please stop spreading fear and hate. Jesus is asking us Christians to hold everyone in love.
The kids that are missing are the unaccompanied minors who entered the country illegally and, by DHS' own admission, cannot be tracked or found by DHS which is the "sponsoring agency". I guess that means that they are the ones responsible. This issue was addressed in Congressional hearings over a year ago when the Deputy Secretary stated unequivocally that they did not know the whereabouts of the hundreds of thousands of such children. So I am not speaking about American children who are going missing. I am referring to children whose parents sent them to the US in hopes of finding a new, better life. Who will the Guatamalan mother turn to when she hasn't heard from her Juanita for the past 18 months? It SHOULD be the only thing in the news and that is my point... it isn't and why is that?

I agree with your last statement - Jesus especially wants us to look out for "the least of these" and I am wondering why we are not doing so. I think I am motivated by love rather than hate.
