Now that’s a great yarn. You should do an autobiography- you’ve had a pretty colourful life.

Murray, what a pleasure to reconnect with you. Thank you, thank you for reflecting on Sandy’s life with us. Sandy connected me (and eventually) my son with an inmate, Brad. Brad hadn’t had contact (or very little) with family since incarceration. He’s still at the McConnell unit in Texas and has been for many years (too many, imo). Letters and visits with Brad broadened my perspective and led to a reunion between Brad and his son and siblings. I loved that hillbilly. Sandy loved Jesus and he vividly reminded me of the scripture in I Cor 6:11, “And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.” Looking forward to reading through your work. God bless you, brother.

What year were you, Murray? I’m a C4…don’t we were in the same Centurion class.

And yes, that slamming of those doors behind you as you enter a prison. Nothing else like it.

Hi LaDonna! I was C5 I think so a year later. Sandy was a one-off and much missed. How are things with you since Centurions became Colson Fellows? Are you still involved? Thanks for commenting!

We helped lead the San Antonio cohort for several years and recently formed a church cohort - just started our second year. It’s a rich experience. We were spoiled going through it with Chuck, tho, right? I remember Sandy had on his Facebook profile his picture with Chuck, as he was given his Centurions certificate. Can’t wait to hug both those men in heaven one day. I laughed out loud at the visual of you seeing Sandy with your daughter!! I hope you are well?!!
